“Getting Handsy With Oris’ 2024 Novelties”
Watch enthusiasts and curious onlookers (it was held at the Oris boutique in Pavilion Bukit Jalil so yeah), welcome to the horological party of the century (literally) — the 120-year exhibition that’s making time stand still! Well, not really, because then we’d have a problem, wouldn’t we?

In any case, Centre Seconds was on hand to take a closer look at some of Oris’ 2024 Novelties but first, something very special. A Malaysia-themed timepiece.
The Merdeka edition “Tank-style” watch, an exclusive piece made just for Malaysia. This is No. 1, the first of its kind, the big kahuna. And guess what? The mysterious No. 11? Word on the street is it’s owned by none other than Najib. Rumor has it, he’s keeping it safe somewhere, possibly alongside some other “valuables.”
“Sounds exclusive. Anything else us mere mortals can get?”
Sure. There’s the Louis Armstrong Chronometer, hitting all the right notes with its classy, jazzy vibes. And for those who care about being faster than the other guy by 0.006 seconds, there’s three Williams chronographs from Oris that are just revving to go. Probably the closest anyone of us might get to Williams’ actual F1 machinery.
Moving on to what might be the reason we’re all gathered here (I said might because there’s another surprise later on), the refreshed Aquis line up for 2024 with the brilliant ‘Taste of Summer’ variants.

Now, for the piece that’s stealing the spotlight and breaking a few rules — the new limited edition Divers 65. With its 38mm case, dark blue dial, and a logo that looks like it was scribbled by a child (but in a good way!), this watch is a playful twist on a classic. This little gem is a collaboration with a Ligue 1 charity program — because who says you can’t have fun while doing good?
So, there you have it! An evening with everything from classic icons to modern masterpieces and a few surprises along the way. A great big shoutout to the folks at Oris Social Club Kuala Lumpur for having us. Till the next one, folks! Cheers!
